Seems; As is the case with all Oracles, Ethne is very pretty. She looks young for her age, and her build is mostly that of a teenager - small, with subtle curves. Standing at about 5'2", and with smaller bones than most, she definitely doesn't look like a 20 year old woman. Ethne has light brown hair with a slight tint of red that reaches all the way down to her knees, and it's impeccably cared for, as is the norm with Freya followers; her eyes are a matching darker brown. Her features are innocent and give off an air of naïveté, accentuated by her clothing style of choice - usually long, flowing robes or ruffled dresses with frills and ribbons. Ethne is PB'd by Chii, from the CLAMP manga Chobits.

Was; Ethne was born to a modest family of Rahell. Her mother sewed for a living, and her father was a souvenir merchant. Her parents had three children already, all of them males - and thus they were overjoyed to have a baby girl. In her early weeks of life, it became clear that she had impaired vision; the girl had been born completely blind. During her baptism only a few months after she was born, Ethne was found to be suitable for Oracle training, in spite of her impairment. Her parents, faced with this, turned her in to the Church, and two years later their second female child - a baby girl named Lethe - followed suit. The fact two Oracles were born to the same family was seen as a great blessing by the clergy, and unbeknownst to them their family (who they haven't seen since) gained considerable status within the Church because of it.

Ethne completed her Oracle training at age 12, and was selected as the Fire Oracle three years later, after the previous one retired. With her vision she chose her three Guardians, who have been with her since.

As the Fire Oracle, she is kept busy the most out of all the Oracles - since she has the power of mind-reading, her presence is required in the majority of special ceremonies; clergy officials and commonfolk alike will visit her routinely as a safety procedure. It is also her responsibility to report anything "improper" within the elemental circles (forbidden love, for example). Because of this, people tend to keep their distance from her, and she is closest only to her sister, who is now the Water Oracle, and her own guardians.

Is; She's a very personable individual, always with a smile to offer to others. Because she is constantly hearing voices, she loves to talk, even when others aren't talking, and often ends up mentioning things that were never actually said to her, which tends to be... disturbing, for most people.

Her mind-reading ability has made her a very sympathetic person, and she's hardly ever offended by anything. At times she has trouble properly understanding what people are saying, since words and thoughts get mixed up easily. Ethne gets very disoriented in crowds, and prefers being alone most of the time since she often feels as if she's intruding just by being near people (considering she can't turn off her mind-reading powers, she can't help "listening in").

On a more personal level, she hates her position and her powers. It bothers her that they make others uncomfortable around her, and she is especially hurt when her Guardians and people she likes treat her differently for them. Ethne is also very stubborn, and sticks to her personal opinions and beliefs above everyone else's.

Notes; Ethne was born blind. Although she can't see, she has unusual "vision" provided mostly by images others project in their minds. She can't read the journals, so she needs others to read replies and entries aloud for her, and uses only voice posts.
